Located in the North Eastern Himalayas, the Post Entry Quarantine (PEQ) facility at Regional Station Dirang is a modernized, specialized center dedicated to the secure introduction of climate-resilient fruit crops. The facility is equipped to handle the unique agricultural requirements of Arunachal Pradesh by rigorously screening imported plant materials, such as kiwi, persimmon, and walnut, against exotic pests and pathogens. Through careful isolation, testing, and monitoring, PEQ Dirang ensures that only clean, disease-free, and high-quality germplasm reaches the region's farmers, thereby protecting local biodiversity and promoting sustainable horticultural growth.
